Cayman Democratic Party (CDP)formerly the United Democrat Party (UDP)was the Cayman Island’s firstpolitical party formed in 2001 with West Bay politician McKeeva Bush as the party leader.
In 2016 they rebranded into the CDP heading into the 2017 election.
The party went from an all time high of 9 seats in the 2009 general election to a low of 3 seats only in thedistrict of West Bay in 2017. Despite that performance Bush was able to form a Unity Government withthe Progressives in 2017.
